The Sailboat

Our SY Mekatxis is available for renting in Ibiza and Formentera, and now also in Mallorca and Menorca, always with professional crew on board, skipper (Mitxel) and deckhand/cook (Olga). Our main objective is to give you an unique experience, safe, comfortable and funny. We organize the meals, steer the boat and plan the routes, always agree with you all and trying to give you all the best of us.

The SY has four double cabins (3 doubles and 1 bunk), two heads and a big dinette. About the comfort, we have deck matresses, hot water, bimini, sprayhood, solar pannels, watermaker, heater and every devices for living on board far of shore.

Safety equipment: The boat is provided with every safety items for sailing in high seas, liferaft, EPIRB, AIS, radar, lifejackets (even for kids), VHF with DSC, life line, Sat. Inreach and all the mandatory permissions and insurance under comercial Spanish flag.

The crew

Mitxel is Skipper Unlimited (Master on merchant ships up to 1600GT), Yacht Master and former professional photographer. During his career as press photographer thanks to a colleague, he started sailing, at the begining doing short boat tours around El Abra (in the surroundings of the northern villa of Getxo), soon he discovered a new world: sailing. It’s been a few years since, he begun his nautical studies and currently he’s the skipper of our second sailing yacht “Mekatxis”.

Olga has had many and various jobs: hospitality, commerce, accounting and above all many concerns and desire to try new experiences. Her fist contact with sailing was during a vacation in Holland aboard a schooner, but she couldn’t imagine she would end sailing her own boat 20 years later. Her hospitality experience has helped her to give an excellent reception to everyone who comes aboard Mekatxis.

DESTINATIONS

Ibiza & Formentera

We have many years experience sailing around Balearics, mostly in the Pitiusas, recreational at the begining, then professional, so we can affirm that we know every corner accesible from the sea.

In Ibiza island there are still some quiet and less busy coves where you can find peace and tranquility, even during high season, but if you prefer, we can take you to the most popular coves and beaches.

On the other hand, Formentera island has become the favorite spot for most of our customers, and it’s completely understandable, there we’ll find the most complete range of blue colors.

Majorca & Cabrera

Majorca is the quintessential island. It has blue sea, high moutains, cultural milestones, delicious food, party… And a few miles away Cabrera archipelago, natural park and heavenly place where we can take a stroll, make a guided visit, swim between plenty of marine life, visit the castle, the island’s interpretation center and experience nature like no other places.

From Mallorca island, we can cross to Cabrera National Park. Do you know that this island was once a prison? Nowadays, fortunately for us sailors, it has become in a lovely and quiet place where it is highly recommeded to spend at least one day, visiting the old castle, doing the guided tour to the ligthhouse and swimming in the clear and full of sealife waters.

Minorca

At the island of Minorca you can find countless coves, each one better than the previous one. This is the quietest island of Balearics, famous for the familiar tourism where we can relax aboard of Mekatxis. If within your plan is sail in short passages, enjoy the nature, walk over white sand, swim and relax yourself this is your place.

During the 3th week of June, the feast of Sant Joan is very famous at Ciutadella and just in the other side of the island, in September in Mahón, they celebrate the main feast with horses along the streets, we need to go next year!

North Sardinia

This great Italian Island located south of Corsica offers us unforgetable landscapes, by the sea or at shore. Sailing around La Maddalena archipelago, La Pelosa, Assinara, Alghero, Lavezzi, even the crossing to Corsica will be nice memories over your summertime.

This last summer in Sardnia has been amazing and need to spend more time overthere. We are in love with Italy!
